For many that live or travel through west Bryan there's excitement every time they pass the new Walmart Supercenter. Kenneth Klimple, from Lyons, travels to this area just to get his shopping done. He said "we are thrilled to death. We talk about it every time we come down the road."

This Walmart is set to open this spring. The After one of the former presidents of Texas A&M. A suggest made by Rudder's son. David Foor, VP of Lovett Commercial, said "we didn't want it to be a generic name and he called up and suggested we named it after his father and we talked to Walmart and they were happy about it."

While Lovett Commercial can't release the names of who will settle here. They tell me they are in negotiations with national chain restaurants."

Foor said "we have under construction three multi-tenant buildings and we are probably close to 60 percent already leased."

 

Kevin Russell, Bryan Economic Development Director, said "we know that once Walmart is up and running we are going to get the little strip areas in line, retail filled by multiple small business which is a great thing for our economy

The city believes this is just the beginning for what's to come in west Bryan. Russell said "I think that its going to lead to more development on the west side."

Kenneth really excited about new places to cater to his taste buds. He said "if they have Spanish food and steaks we'll be thrilled to death."

Walmart is expected to be complete sometime this March.
