KAGS with MYTX (Cozi) and METV– A TEGNA Station
KAGS is the NBC affiliate for the Bryan College Station, Brazos Valley market. It can be viewed on Channel 6 and 23-1 on the Suddenlink Cable or channel 23-1 on Direct TV. In June, 2009, London Broadcasting purchased KMAY from the Mayborn family. In 2011, London Broadcasting made several large scale changes to the station. In July, 2011 the call letters were changed to KAGS (pronounced K Ags). In August, 2011 the location of the station was moved to its current address, 2800 South Texas Avenue, Bryan, TX 77802. In October, 2011 the station launched live, local newscasts airing at 6:00pm and 10:00pm Monday through Friday. A special 30 minute sports program was also launched focusing on Texas A&M athletics. This sports program airs Saturday and Sunday evenings at 10:00pm. Gannett Inc. purchased KAGS and all London broadcasting stations in July of 2014. On June 29, 2015, Gannett's broadcast and print divisions were split into two separate entities. The print side kept the Gannett name, while the broadcast side is now under TEGNA moniker.
Additionally, the station is responsible for 2 other programming Channels, MYTX (Cozi) Channel 23-2 and MeTV (Channel 23-3). MYTX (Cozi) TV is a national network bringing viewers America's most beloved and iconic television series, hit movies and original programming brought to you by the NBC Owned Television Stations. Well-known shows like Magnum, P.I., The Bionic Woman, Highway to Heaven, The Lone Ranger and The Six Million Dollar Man are featured on the network. Cozi TV also airs a wide range of movies, showcasing iconic actors spanning generations, including legends Rock Hudson and Doris Day and modern day actors George Clooney and Drew Barrymore.
The past and the present have come together on Cozi TV.
MeTV features a wide range of classic television programming, some of the best programming written for television, that audiences and advertisers find comfortable and engaging. Its library includes series from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution and CBS Television Distribution as well as independent series owners and producers. Some of the comedies on MeTV are: M*A*S*H, Cheers, Mary Tyler Moore, and The Bob Newhart Show. Dramas on the network include: Perry Mason, The Untouchables, The Big Valley, the original Star Trek and the original Hawaii Five-O series.
KAGS, with the help of MYTX (Cozi) and MeTV, continues to grow and be a broadcast leader in the Brazos Valley.
