COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The new radiation cancer center at Baylor Scott & White has administrated 1500 daily radiation treatments since the grand opening in January.
"We were not expecting those kind of numbers to start out, we were expecting that number to start out lower, so we are excited because it just shows that there is a demand for this cancer center," Amber Reed, Director of Baylor Scott and White Cancer Center said.
The cancer center also has a healing garden for patients to look out into while they are receiving their treatments.
“We have had a strong medical oncology department and large infusion center for several years. Now the addition of radiation oncology brings the cancer care continuum full circle for our center, but importantly for patients living in our community," Reed said.
