COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Family and friends of a man and son, who were badly hurt in a car accident, are hosting a fundraiser to cover medical expenses.

On August 10, Chad Whisenant and his son, Nolan, were involved in a car accident on their way home from a church meeting. Chad is expected to recover, but will need more surgery, according to Charles Rogers, the co-chair for the upcoming benefit. Nolan is still in a coma.

The family has insurance, but they anticipate their medical bills to reach into the "100s of thousands of dollars."

The Nolan Whisenant Benefit is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at Wellborn Baptist Church, located on 14575 fm 2154 Road in College Station. The benefit is from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
