BRYAN, Texas - According to documents obtained by KAGS News, Tommy Wallis will be paid a settlement of $83,049.94 for parting ways with Bryan ISD. The money is to be paid within five business days of Sept. 30.
According to the separation agreement between the former superintendent and the district, "Wallis and the Board have reached a mutually acceptable agreement for Wallis to resign his position as Superintendent of the District effective at 11:59 p.m., September 30, 2016."
It goes on to say, "it is strictly the voluntary act of Wallis to voluntarily resign his employment as Superintendent of the District because Wallis believes it will be in his best interest and that of the District to voluntarily resign his position as Superintendent of the District effective at 11:59 p.m., September 30, 2016."
The agreement also states that Wallis was to submit his resignation letter to the board On Oct. 3.
It also says that all facts and allegations leading to the agreement and Wallis' employment and resignation are confidential and will remain between the legal counsels for both parties and other entities, including Wallis' own wife.
