BRYAN, Texas -- Commonly known as Day of the Dead or All Souls Day, Dia de los Muertos is a day dedicated to celebrate lives of the departed and welcome the return of their spirits.

For thousands of years the holiday has been celebrated in Mexico and Central America from November 1-3.

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is displaying altars, drawings of calaveras, and art from the region. The exhibit is open until November 6.
