Huntsville Police Department have arrested 21-year-old Brandon McDaniel on charges of Attempted Capital Murder and Evading Arrest following a shots fired incident that occurred early Wednesday Morning.

While making a traffic stop near the intersection of 11th Street and Normal Park Dr. an officer with HPD heard several shots fired nearby. In his search of the area he noticed a speeding vehicle approaching him and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The suspect, later identified as Brandon McDaniel, then fled into the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex and soon got out of the vehicle with a pistol in hand.

The HPD officers requested assistance from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and their tracking dogs who responded and tracked the McDaniel to an apartment within the complex.

Upon his arrest, the weapon was no longer is his possession. Officers questioned two additional men, Adarryll McDaniel and Tyrion Jenkins, in relation to the incident and location of the missing weapon.

During the investigation, the gun was recovered and both men were charged with Interfering with Public Duties.

Brandon McDaniel could face a possible life sentence for the Attempted Capital Murder charge which is a 1st degree felony.
