BRYAN, Texas - KAGS News caught up with Courtnie Ramirez, a Bryan native and contestant on "The Voice," after her big battle this Monday on the show. The local singer says she is happy to join team Alicia Keys after being stolen from team Miley Cyrus. Ramirez hopes the switch will allow her to learn different skills from a new coach.

"Alicia is going to have more of an inspirational approach," said Ramirez. "She is really mellow but she also knows what she is talking about. I think she is going to help me explore more of my lower register of my voice."

Ramirez went on to say that she is grateful for all the support from her hometown. This Friday, there will be a pep rally for the signer in downtown Bryan. She will perform with her band starting at 6pm at the Palace Theatre.
