COLLEGE STATION, Texas—A Texas A&M fraternity is stepping up to help animals waiting for forever homes.

Sigma Alpha Mu is hosting their first-ever Bark-B-Que this weekend.

They’re partnering with the Urgent Animals of Hearne to showcase all the dogs up for adoption—over 50 dogs will be at the event.

“This event is really important to us because we’re able to help animals that without us, and without the organization wouldn’t have a voice,” said Sigma Alpha Mu member, Jake Brooks.

Sigma Alpha Mu has a “dog park themed” backyard where they’re hosting the event, a perfect venue to visit with some animals waiting for homes.

The Bark-B-Que will also include a barbecue lunch, silent auction and a live DJ.

If you get your ticket before the event starts, it’s only $5.00 and the day of the event, tickets are $7.00.

Funds raised from the event will go to help the Urgent Animals of Hearne save more animals off the streets.

The Bark-B-Que is open to the community and goes on from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity house is located at 550 Fraternity Row in College Station.
