UPDATE: Waller Co authorities identify men at center of homicide investigation

Authorities responded to the 25000 block of Winding Way. They said someone was trying to run from the scene.

WALLER COUNTY, Texas — Update February 24, 2020:

The Waller County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the people they believed to be involved in a homicide investigation in Hockley.

Joshua Craver, 27, of Hockley, is being held at the Waller County Jail at this time on an outstanding warrant out of Gregg County. Authorities said they also want the District Attorney's Office to review possible charges connected to a homicide investigation.

Around 2 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a shooting call on the 25000 block of Winding Way. When they arrived, they found 42-year-old Harley Jo Williams dead from a gunshot wound. The deputies said they saw Craver running from the scene and caught him, then arrested him.

Authorities said Craver was involved in an argument with Williams earlier in the day and they believe Craver to have been the one who shot Williams, although he has not yet been charged with that crime.

The investigation remains ongoing with the Texas Rangers. Authorities said they are not searching for other suspects at this time.
