BATON ROUGE – The No. 9 Texas A&M softball team fell to No. 15 LSU, 2-0, in the series opener Friday evening at Tiger Park.

LSU (34-10, 8-7 SEC) starter Carley Hoover gave up three hits and struck out four in the complete game effort for her 15th win of the season. Texas A&M’s Trinity Harrington was saddled with the loss, giving up five hits and two runs with a strikeout to move to 12-2 on the season.

Keeli Milligan led the Aggie (36-11, 9-7 SEC) offense with two hits as Sarah Hudek extended her hitting streak to 11 games with a single up the middle. The duo gave the Aggies their best scoring chance in the game as Milligan led off the sixth with a single and moved to third on Hudek’s single. With Hudek advancing to second on the throw, the Aggies had runners in scoring position with nobody out, but Hoover got out of the jam with a groundout and two fly outs.
