Bob's Forecast: Fourth of July celebrations may be affected by scattered storms

Decent rain chances will linger next week with the remnants of the front in the area.

BRYAN, Texas — Showers and cloud cover have helped keep temperatures below average the past few days.

We'll start the month of July with a bit more typical weather for the Brazos Valley.  Rain chances will not be quite as high on Wednesday, and Thursday could be rain-free. High pressure aloft will build back over Texas by Thursday bringing those lower rain chances and correspondingly higher temperatures.

However, another change in our weather will occur over the weekend as a rare July cold front (in name only) moves into the region before stalling and gradually dissipating.

The proximity of the front will make the atmosphere more unstable, and that should lead to higher rain chances once again. Independence Day celebrations could be affected by showers or thunderstorms on both Saturday and Sunday.
