The Blinn College Board of Trustees decided to table the issue of the new campus location after more than three hours of deliberation in a closed session of Tuesday night's board meeting.
The meeting adjourned just before 11 p.m. The Board will hold a special meeting later this month with a similar format to last night's meeting, including public comment, and then a closed session.
The exact date is still not set.
(9:52 p.m. Tuesday) The Blinn College Board of Trustees is still in the closed session portion of their meeting that began at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the possible location of an additional campus for Blinn Collegein either Bryan or College Station.
13 people from the Bryan and College Station came to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting to voice their concerns about what would happen to the neighborhood they live in if a new campus were to be established in the area of Southwest Parkway and Raintree Drive in South College Station.
The Board went into their closed session around 7:35 and is still discussing. No one from the Board will be able to comment until the meeting is over.
"I just feel where location, location, location is important, this is a horrible location for future growth, and just for immediate, what's going to happen to the neighborhoods," said Cheryl Wenck, a resident in the Emerald Forest neighborhood, which is near the proposed new site.
The board's decision will be posted here as soon as it is available.
