BRYAN, Texas -- Dr. Tim Rocka announced Friday he will retire as Bryan ISD's Deputy Superintendent at the end of Fall semester.
Rocka joined BISD in 2011 as assistant superintended of human resources before becoming deputy superintendent.
During his years at BISD, Rocka spearheaded the district's "Bryan's Excellence for Students and Teachers (BEST)" compensation plan, and helped create the Bryan ISD?Texas A&M University Partnership Aspiring Principals Academy.
“I look forward to what lies ahead and where the road may lead. My family has been very supportive of this decision, and after nearly 30 years of service in public education I’m ready to have a bit more time to spend with them and to continuing to serve in many ways,” Rocka said. “I have enjoyed mentoring hundreds of students, teachers and administrators and have been blessed to work with many of the best educators and administrators in the State of Texas. It’s been a rewarding career, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had.”
