Jimbo Fisher accepts head coach position at Texas A&M

Texas A&M will hire Florida State's Jimbo Fisher to be its new head football coach. Fisher will be paid a reported $75 million over 10 years

Jimbo Fisher has officially stepped down as head coach of Florida State University and accepted head coaching position at Texas A&M University.

Rumors of him becoming the head football coach at Texas A&M University have been stirring for days now.

There is also a Texas A&M Board of Regents meeting scheduled for Monday at 9 am to, “Negotiate and Execute Employment Contract with Head Football Coach.”

This comes after the Texas A&M University System’s Board of Regents discussed the A&M football program during a special meeting on Nov. 30 after Kevin Sumlin was relieved of his duties as head coach of the Aggies after A&M's loss to LSU on Nov. 25.
