Mother mourns son's death while police search for killer

Brenda West Walker wants answers about her son's murder.

BRYAN, Texas -- Larry Goodman’s murder case is at a standstill today, leaving many questions for the Goodman Family.

“A lot of different emotions,” Brenda West Walker said, Larry Goodman’s mother. “Sadness... my heart's broken. This is a different type of hurt when you lose a child.

On Tuesday, Larry Goodman was found dead at a home on Wilcox Lane.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office has named Matthew Brown as a person of interest in Goodman’s death. His mother said she did not know who he was.

Thursday, word got out that Brown was staying at the Hyatt Place Hotel on University Drive. Larry's mother watched the search unfold in agony.

"I was really hoping he was there,” West Walker said. “I didn't want him to put up a fight and hurt a police officer or anybody else. "

Multiple law enforcement agencies searched for over four hours. It came up short, and Brown was never found.

The Goodman family is wanting answers for the death of a loved one so vital to their life.

"I want to ask him, why he felt like he had to run out that door and shoot my son,” West Walker said. “Why he left him leaving in the driveway all alone?  It comes to my mind that my son laid in that driveway and nobody was there with him.”

If you have any whereabouts of Matthew Brown, authorities ask you to call the Brazos County Sheriff's Department 979-361-4900,  Brazos County Crime Stoppers (979-755-TIPS), or by dialing 911.
