NASA's new job opening: Planetary Protection Officer

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- NASA announced Thursday a new job opening that is out-of-this-world, a Planetary Protection Officer, protecting our world from aliens. 

This job would pay up to $187,000/ year according to the job opening website.

The job description, according to the listing, includes:

  • Frequent travel may be required
  • This is a drug-testing designated position
  • Selectee must complete a financial disclosure statement
  • A one-year probationary period may be required

A degree in physical science, engineering or mathematics is one of the requirements for the position, with an August 14th deadline to apply.
