Person identified in Highway 6 fatal car accident

UPDATE: The family of the deceased has been notified.

The deceased has been identified as Lori Haley Marberry, 45, of College Station. 

Original: On Nov. 27 at approximately 7:33 a.m., officers with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to a major accident on State Highway 6 North at Rock Prairie Road.  

Upon arriving on scene, officers observed that a black car had entered onto the northbound entrance ramp of State Highway 6 approaching Rock Prairie Road.

After entering onto State Highway 6, the vehicle veered to the left, striking the concrete median, and then proceeded across the highway striking a concrete pillar underneath the bridge located at State Highway 6 and Rock Prairie Road.  

The driver of the vehicle died on scene as result of injuries sustained from the accident.

The northbound lanes of SH 6 were closed for approximately 3 hours to conduct the accident investigation. The roadway is now open for northbound traffic.  

The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time in order to notify next of kin.
