Texas A&M System Regents to discuss football program at special meeting

Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher is the main target of Texas A&M to become the Aggies new coach, but Fisher refuses to talk about the potential job.

Chairman Charles Schwartz has called a Special Meeting of the Texas A&M University System’s Board of Regents to convene at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 30, in the Board of Regents Meeting Room, Board of Regents Annex.

The purpose for the meeting is for discussion of legal and personnel issues relating to the football program, including issues relating to appointment of new head coach, Texas A&M University.

This comes after Texas A&M relieved Kevin Sumlin of his coaching duties Sunday after the Aggies lost to LSU.

A vice chancellor told the Houston Chronicle on Monday that the meeting would be to discuss a new football coach and his contract, but that no action would be taken afterwards, meaning a new coach would not be hired at that time.

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has been rumored to be next in line to coach the Aggies, but Fisher refused to talk about the rumors he's headed to A&M on Monday, saying, "I'm not going to speak about jobs right now."
