Walker County traffic stop leads to drug bust

HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Three people were arrested on Wednesday after a traffic stop ended with a large discovery of drugs and U.S. currency.

On June 28 a Walker County Sheriff's Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 45 North at mile post 115 for a Traffic Violation.

Upon contacting the driver and occupants who appeared nervous and had conflicting stories, granted the Deputy consent to search the vehicle.

During the search a hidden compartment was discovered revealing 15 pounds of powder cocaine, half pound of heroin (narcotics approximately street value of $130,000) and $128,222.00 in U.S. currency.

Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae advices that he is very proud of the work conducted by Deputy Beeman in this case.
