Aggie Hoops Inks Elite Big Man Isiah Jasey

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M head coach Billy Kennedy confirmed Wednesday morning the addition of four-star prospect Isiah Jasey Killeen, Texas (Sunrise Christian [Wichita, Kan.]) to the Aggies' 2017 recruiting class.

“Isiah is a guy we’ve been recruiting for a long time,” Kennedy said. “He’s coming from one of the top programs in the country in Sunrise Christian, which plays a national schedule. He’s got a great ability to rebound above the rim and his toughness around the basket will make an instant impact on the court for us.”

Jasey is regarded as a four-star recruit by ESPN, which slots him as the eighth-best prospect in the Lone Star State. The 6-foot-9 center is considered an immediate impact player on the defensive end with his ability to rebound and block shots.

He played two years at Killeen Ellison High School before taking a spot at the Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kan., where he averaged 10 points and eight rebounds last season.

"Isiah has a tremendous motor and his work ethic is special," Sunrise Prep Luke Barnwell told Scout.com’s Brian Snow, "He is a high-level athlete and his immediate impact will be felt defensively blocking shots and rebounding. I think Isiah is just scratching the surface offensively and he will continue to get better."

In AAU competition, Jasey played in the EYBL Nike League with Houston Hoops where he averaged 6.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor. He chose Texas A&M over Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas among others.
