Park Advances to WTGA Quarterfinals

A pair of Texas A&M Aggies were in action in the championship bracket of the WTGA State Golf Tournament on Wednesday.

Texas A&M incoming freshman Amber Park won two match play rounds to advance to Thursday's quarterfinals of the 96th Annual WTGA Amateur Championship.

Park defeated Stephanie Moorberg 5 and 3 in the Round of 32 Wednesday morning, then beat Brooke McDougald 6-5 in the Round of 16.

Fellow Aggie Chloe Velasco defeated Elena Kim 6 and 5 in the Round of 32, before falling to Melissa Kidd in the Round of 16.

In Thursday morning's quarterfinals, Park will play Erin Fahey. The match tees off at 8:24 am at Traditions Club.
