TXZ195>197-211-291145- Brazos TX-Washington TX-Burleson TX-Austin TX- 551 AM CDT WED MAR 29 2017 ...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO AND ACROSS NORTHWESTERN AUSTIN...BURLESON...WESTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTHWESTERN BRAZOS COUNTIES THROUGH 645 AM CDT... At 548 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Tanglewood to near Muldoon. Movement was northeast at 40 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms. Locations impacted include... Western Bryan, Caldwell, Somerville, Snook, Burton, Lake Somerville Dam, Lyons, Deanville, Quarry and Chriesman. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in League City. If on or near Lake Somerville, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now!
