BRYAN, Texas — William Johnson is a Texas native who believes in asking tough questions.

Growing up in the suburbs of Houston and later to the “Rose Capital” of Texas, Tyler, William is no stranger to change and believes in optimizing opportunities.

William started working in television when he was only 18-years-old at KETK, Tyler's NBC affiliate. His transition to working in news felt like a “God moment” and from there, he had found his true calling in life.

During his time there, William covered everything from the beginning of the pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests, election races, and was regularly on-call if breaking news ever happened. During the 2021 Texas snowstorm, William scheduled an interview with Erin Brockovich to discuss the water issues in the State that made national news.

William believes that living in Tyler taught him that you must create your own opportunities for yourself and not wait for them to just magically happen.

In August of 2021, William joined our team here at KAGS as a Multi-Skilled Journalist and Anchor, but he was already familiar with the area prior to moving to the Brazos Valley. His earliest memories of Bryan and College Station are when he would come to visit his uncle and explore the Texas A&M campus as a child.

In William’s spare time, he enjoys creating artwork, refurbishing old furniture, and making a quality cup of coffee.
