College Station approves additional 13 million for city budget

The city council unanimously approved a 13.8 million dollar budget amendment Monday night

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The College Station City Council approved a 13.8 million dollar budget Monday night. 

The new total for the city budget is 374 million. 

Almost 8 million dollars comes from spending that wasn't completed in 2018. With projects that include 4.2 million for the synthetic fields at Veterans Park, 900,000 to complete phase one for the Fun For All Playground in Central Park and a new ladder truck for the fire department. 

Other projects include a 3-million-dollar budget for the Lick Creek Wastewater Expansion. Construction for that should begin this year and go through 2022. 

Here is a full list of how the funds will be broken down: 

Encumbrance Roll - $7,995,063 (Budget Amendment)

Electric CIP – Transmission Poles and Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) - $770,817 (Budget Amendment and Interfund Transfer)

Wastewater CIP – East Side FM158 Sewer Line - $927,000 (Budget Amendment)

Water CIP – Lincoln Avenue Rehab - $18,900 (Budget Amendment) 

Library Expenses - $57,177 (Budget Amendment)

Water CIP – Veterans Park Reclaimed System Improvements - $67,000 (Budget Amendment)

Water Event at City Hall - $350,000 (Budget Amendment)

Wastewater CIP – Lick Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (LCWWTP) Expansion - $3,687,000 (Budget Amendment)

Trailhead Parking Lot at Lick Creek - $20,000 (Interfund Transfer)

Fire Department – Increase of Co-Medical Director’s contracted amount - $4,300 (Interfund Transfer)
