BRYAN, Texas — A Bryan woman is in jail after police said she was found with drugs, drug paraphernalia and several pieces of identifying information of other people.
Angela Windham, 42, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and fraud. At the time of her arrest, Bryan police said she was out on bond out of Brazos County for a theft of property charge.
Police responded to the 1600 block of Texas Avenue North Thursday after a call for help came in about an unresponsive woman inside a car. The car was in the parking lot of a local phone store and people were gathered around, trying to wake the woman up.
The officer on scene said the woman, later identified as Windham, was laying in the driver's seat and witnesses at the scene said she had been there sleeping for about four hours. The car was in park, but the engine was running so the officer said he opened the door and turned off the car before waking Windham.
An ambulance arrived and Windham was checked out by paramedics. The officer said Windham consented to a search of the car. Inside a purse, the officer said he found a small amount of methamphetamine. In a pouch on the passenger seat, the officer said he found two used uncapped needles.
The officer said he also found a bag in between the driver's seat and the door. Inside this bag were several pieces of identifying information for nine different identities, including passport information, debit cards, checks, insurance cards, bank account information and checks.
Windham is currently in the Brazos County Jail on $22,350 bond.
