BRYAN, Texas —
Bryan Independent School District gave the all-clear for Mitchell Elementary, Rayburn Intermediate and Rudder High schools following a perimeter seal at all three campuses Thursday afternoon, according to the school district.
The perimeter seal was put in place during the afternoon, after teachers at Mitchell Elementary School reported they thought they heard gunfire in the woods behind the campus.
The school day continued as usual but the perimeter seal kept anyone from entering or leaving any of the campuses while authorities investigated the situation
Parents of students who walk home from Mitchell Elementary and Rayburn Intermediate schools are asked to pick up their children.
Additionally, there was a fire at Rudder High School around 12:45 p.m. today in a bathroom trash can. The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the school district.
