Another death from COVID-19 in Grimes County, 188 active cases

Grimes County Office of Emergency Management is continuously updating numbers.

GRIMES COUNTY, Texas — UPDATE: December 8, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services reported there are 188 active cases of COVID-19 in the county. At least 83 of those cases have been reported in Navasota. Another Grimes County resident has died, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the county to 23.

As of the week of December 7, 2020, 718 Grimes County residents have recovered from COVID-19.

UPDATE: December 1, 2020

Grimes County reported there are 162 active cases of COVID-19 in the county and at least 77 of those cases have been reported in Navasota. Grimes County has lost 22 residents since the start of the pandemic, according to a report released by Grimes County Emergency Management Services.

As of the week of November 30, 2020, 682 Grimes County residents have recovered from the coronavirus.

UPDATE: November 23, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services reported there are 127 active cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County.

Grimes County has lost 22 residents to COVID-19, according to an update on the Grimes County website.

UPDATE: November 16, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services confirmed there are 91 active cases of COVID-19 in the county, and at least 57 of those active cases have been diagnosed in residents of Navasota. Grimes County has now lost 21 residents to COVID-19, according to the county.

At this time, 638 people have recovered from the coronavirus.

UPDATE: November 2, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services confirmed there are currently 75 active cases of COVID-19 in the county and at least 39 of those active cases have been diagnosed in residents of Navasota. The county is reporting 590 residents of the county have recovered from the coronavirus.

At this time, 20 Grimes County residents have died from COVID-19, according to the county.

UPDATE: October 26, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services reported there are 72 active cases of COVID-19 in the county. At least 35 of the active cases have been diagnosed in residents of Navasota. The county reported 578 people have recovered from COVID-19.

At this time, 20 Grimes County residents have died from COVID-19, according to the county. Seven people died within the last week, according to numbers released by Grimes County.

UPDATE: October 20, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services confirmed Tuesday two more Grimes County residents have died from COVID-19. Grimes County has lost 13 residents to the coronavirus.

At this time, there are 65 known active cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 35 of those cases being from Navasota. At this time, 584 Grimes County residents have survived COVID-19.

UPDATE: October 14, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services confirmed there are 53 active cases of COVID-19 in the county for the week of October 12. At least 33 of those active cases have been diagnosed in Navasota residents, the press release said. Grimes County has lost 11 residents to COVID-19. There are 631 patients who have recovered.

UPDATE: October 6, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management Services confirmed there are 49 active cases of COVID-19 in the county for the week of October 5, 2020. At least 29 of those active cases have been diagnosed in patients from Navasota. At this time, 560 people in the county have recovered from COVID-19, and 11 residents of Grimes County have died since the pandemic began.

Grimes County Emergency Management Services reported there are 54 active cases of COVID-19 in the county and at least 28 of those cases have been diagnosed in residents of Navasota. At this time, 10 Grimes County residents have lost their lives to the coronavirus.

The county is reporting 521 residents have survived COVID-19.

There are 88 reported active cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County and 10 deaths. Since March, 5,026 tests have been administered with 508 coming back positive. 404 people have recovered from those 508.

103 active cases of COVID-19 are being reported in Grimes County, bringing the total number of cases to 523. From the 523 reported cases, 421 have recovered.

Grimes County is reporting 88 active cases of COVID-19. Out of the 508 cases reported, 404 people have recovered.

As of Tuesday, Grimes County is reporting 234 active cases of COVID-19. There are 499 total cases, and 355 recoveries.

Grimes County is reporting 50 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 470. There are currently 222 active cases, and 311 reported recoveries.

20 more cases of COIVD-19 are being reported in Grime County, bringing the total cases to 420. There are currently 164 active cases of the virus, with 255 reported recoveries.

Grimes county is reporting 34 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total cases in the county to 400. There are currently 229 active cases and 167 recoveries. They've also announced their first death, a resident of Navasota.

Grimes County is reporting 366 total cases of COVID-19 with 132 recoveries. There are currently 263 active cases in the county.

Grimes County Emergency Management Services reported one Grimes County resident remains hospitalized with COVID-19 at this time. There are 173 reported active cases in the county and at least 33 people have recovered from the coronavirus, according to the county.

Grimes County is reporting 107 active cases of COVID-19 in the county. There are 158 total cases, one hospitalization, and 33 recoveries.

68 active cases of COVID-19 are being reported in Grimes County, with 32 recoveries and 116 total cases. This does not include TDCJ.

Grimes County is reporting 44 active cases of COVID-19,  with 87 total. These do not include cases from TDCJ. Cases reported from the TDCJ are 30 active cases, with 222 total.

Grimes county is reporting 6 new cases of COVID-19. This number only includes cases within Navasota city limits and one additional case in the county. It does not include TDCJ.

Grimes County is reporting 214 total COVID-19 cases with 16 recoveries. TDCJ reports 194 total cases with 27 recoveries.

Grimes County has reported seven new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed there, bringing the total number of active cases to 107. There have been 122 known positive cases diagnosed overall.

At least 82 of the active cases in the county are TDCJ-related.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed one new case of COVID-19 in Grimes County. The patient is a TDCJ offender in his 50’s who is not hospitalized. 

Seventy-six out of the total 115 cases have come from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

There are currently 98 active cases in Grimes County.

There are 2 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Grimes County, bringing the total to 114.

The first patient is a male in his 20s lives in the 77363 zip code. The second patient is a female in her 40s who lives in the 77868 zip code, within Navasota city limits.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed 7 new cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County. There are 112 total cases in the county, with 98 cases still active. 

The first patient is a male in his 20s who is not hospitalized and whose exposure was not travel related. This patient resides in the 77831 zip code. The second patient is a male in his 20s who is hospitalized and whose exposure is unknown. This patient resides in the 77831 zip code. The other 5 patients are TDCJ offenders who are not hospitalized.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed 5 new cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County. 

The first patient is a female in her 30’s who is not hospitalized and exposure was community spread. This patient lives in the 77830 zip code. The other 4 patients are TDCJ male offenders whose hospitalization is unknown.

Five more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Grimes County, bringing the total number of active cases there to 85. There have been a total of 99 people who have been diagnosed and one person has died.

All five of the patients are TDCJ male offenders. It is unknown if they are hospitalized at this time.

Three more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Grimes County, bringing the total to 94 cases. Right now there are 81 active cases, 12 reported recoveries, and 1 death.

The first two patients are females in their 20’s. One is hospitalized and one is not. Both patients reside in the 77831 zip code. The third patient is a male in his teens who is hospitalized and resides in the 77868-zip code within Navasota city limits.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County. Grimes County now has a total of 78 active cases and 12 reported recoveries. There are 91 total cases.

The first patient is a male in his 60’s whose hospitalization is unknown and whose exposure is not travel related. The second patient is a male in his 60’s who is not hospitalized and whose exposure is unknown. Both patients reside in the 77868 zip code within Navasota city limits.

UPDATE: May 20, 2020

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed 24 additional cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the total number of cases to 89. Grimes County now has a total of 76 active cases, 12 reported recoveries, and one death.

These 24 cases have all come from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. All 24 patients are TDCJ male offenders who are not hospitalized.

Grimes County has confirmed there are 65 known cases of COVID-19 in the county. That brings a total number of active cases to 52. Both of the patients are TDCJ male offenders.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed 7 more cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the total to 50 active cases, 12 reported recoveries, and 1 death. 

One patient is a female in her 50’s whose hospitalization and exposure are unknown. Another female is in her 30’s whose hospitalization and exposure are known. The other five patients are male TDCJ offenders who are not hospitalized.

The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed two more known positive cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the total number of known positive cases to 56. Currently, there are 43 active cases of the virus.

The two newest patients are TDCJ male offenders who have not been hospitalized.

Twelve more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Grimes County. These new cases bring the total number to 54.

All 12 patients are Texas Department Criminal Justice male offenders who are not currently hospitalized.

The patient is a female in her 30’s whose hospitalization is unknown and resides in the 77868 zip code, within Navasota city limits. The patient’s exposure is unknown.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed the 41st case of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the total to 35 active cases, 5 recoveries, and 1 death.

The patient is a male in his 60’s whose hospitalization is unknown and resides in the 77363 zip code. The patient’s exposure is unknown.

Grimes County is reporting four more known cases of COVID-19, bringing the county's total to 40 cases, 34 of them being currently active. One of the patients is a man in his 60s who lives within Navasota city limits. The other three patients are TDCJ male offenders who are not currently hospitalized.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed 10 positive cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County. Grimes County currently has a total of 30 active cases, five reported recoveries, and one death.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed three more cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County. Grimes County now has a total of 21 active cases as of Wednesday May 6, 2020. 

The first patient is a male in his 50’s who’s hospitalization is unknown and resides in the 77868 zip code, outside of Navasota city limits. The second patient is a male in his 60’s who’s hospitalization is unknown and resides in the 77868 zip code, outside of Navasota city limits. The third patient is a male in his 30’s who is not hospitalized and resides in the 77868 zip code, outside of Navasota city limits.

UPDATE: May 5, 2020

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed another case of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the county to a total of 23 cases.

The patient is a male in his 60s who resides within the 77868 zip code, outside Navasota city limits. DSHS is continuing to investigate this case.

Grimes County currently has 5 reported recovered cases of COVID-19.

UPDATE: May 3, 2020

Grimes County reported there are now 22 known positive cases of COVID-19 in the county at this time. The two newest cases being reported are a female in her 50s who is not hospitalized and a man in his 70s who is hospitalized.

At least five of the people in the county who have tested positive have recovered at this time.

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed another case of COVID-19 in Grimes County, bringing the county to a total of 20 cases as of Friday, May 1, 2020. 

The patient is a male in his 50s who is currently hospitalized and resides within Navasota City Limits. DSHS is continuing to investigate this case.

The 18th and 19th cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Grimes County.

The first patient is a female in her 50’s who's exposure was community spread and is not currently hospitalized. This patient resides in the 77868 zip code, outside of Navasota city limits. The second patient is a minor who's exposure was travel related and resides in the 77363 zip code.

UPDATE: April 29, 2020

The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County. Grimes County now has a total of 17 confirmed cases as of Wednesday, April 29, 2020. 

The first patient is a female in her 40’s who’s exposure was community spread and resides in the 77868 zip code. The second patient is a female in her 40’s who’s exposure is unknown and resides in the 77353 zip code. The second case is still being investigated by DSHS.

UPDATE: April 27, 2020

According to the Grimes County Office of Emergency Management, two more positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. Grimes County now has a total of 15 confirmed cases as of Monday, April 27, 2020. 

The first patient is a male in his 80’s who’s exposure was travel-related and is currently hospitalized. The second patient is a male in his 50’s whose exposure was not travel-related and is not currently hospitalized.

UPDATE: April 24, 2020

The Grimes County Office of Emergency Management has confirmed another case of COVID-19, a male in his 50’s. This was not travel related. This case brings the total count to 13 with 5 recovered. 

UPDATE: April 23, 2020

According to the Grimes County Office of Emergency Management, there have been two additional cases of COVID-19 reporter. These cases bring the total number of cases to 12, with five having recovered.

The 11th case is a female in her 50’s and the 12th case is a female in her 40’s. Both cases are not travel related.

UPDATE: April 17, 2020

The City of Navasota has been notified of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 inside the city. This case brings Grimes County to a total 10 cases. The patient is a female in her 50s.

As of right now no other information has been released. 

UPDATE: April 16, 2020

Grimes County has been notified by the Department of State Health Services of two more confirmed cases of COVID-19. 

The first case is a 62-year-old male inmate who died with his probable cause of death being pneumonia complicated by COVID-19. The second inmate is in his 70’s who also tested positive for the virus and has been isolated from the inmate population. 

Eleven other inmates determined to have possibly come into contact with either confirmed case have been tested for the virus and were negative. 

UPDATE: April 13, 2020

The Grimes County Emergency Management office has  confirmed two more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total count to seven. 

The first case is a male in his 60’s who contracted the virus while traveling outside the county. The second case is a female in her 20’s and is not travel related. 

UPDATE: April 8, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management has confirmed a fifth case of COVID-19, the patient is a male in his 60’s who is currently hospitalized. This individual’s exposure was not travel related so is believed to be community spread.

UPDATE: April 7, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management has confirmed a fourth case of COIVD-19. The patient is a female in her 50’s. 

The Texas Department of State Health Services has also confirmed that the first three confirmed cases in Grimes County have recovered. 

UPDATE: March 30, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management has confirmed a third case of COVID-19. The patient is a man in his 60's who contracted the virus outside the state and is self-isolating at home. There is no community spread of the virus in Grimes County at this time. 

UPDATE: March 21, 2020

Grimes County Emergency Management has confirmed its second case of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus. David Lily, the county's emergency management coordinator, confirmed while it is a patient that came into contact with the first diagnosed case, it is not considered a community transmission.

The two confirmed cases are two patients who shared the virus through "household contact" and both had recently traveled out of the area. However, neither patent had any contact with anyone in Grimes County, according to the press release.

There is no further information being released on the patients at this time in an effort to protect their privacy.

UPDATE: The man contracted the coronavirus while traveling outside Grimes County and this individual did not make contact with anyone in Grimes County at any point during his return home.
