Madison County confirms first case of COVID-19

Officials are encouraging everyone to wear gloves and masks, as well as continue following social distancing and safe hygiene practices.

MADISON COUNTY, Texas — The Madison County Office of Emergency Management  has confirmed their first positive case of COVID-19. 

The patient is a 40-50 year-old female who is being self-quarantined at home. 

The office of emergency management urges residents to continue following Governor Abbott and Madison County's stay-at-home orders.

They also encourage everyone to wear gloves and masks, as well as continue following social distancing and safe hygiene practices. 

MADISONVILLE, Tex. (KBTX) - As of April 7, Madison County has no con... firmed cases of COVID-19. County officials said twelve Madison County residents have been tested, and all results came back negative. They explained that local healthcare providers can perform the test but then have to ship the results off to another county's lab.
