CHICAGO – Texas A&M senior Landis Durham was named to the Ted Hendricks Award Watch List given annually to the nation’s top defensive end, the Ted Hendricks Foundation announced Monday.

Durham tied for the league lead with 10.5 sacks and was second on the team in tackles for loss at 12. The Plano, Texas, native recorded seven sacks against SEC opponents, which tied for third in the conference and was a half sack behind the league leader.

The senior was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week on October 2 after recording five tackles, two sacks and a QB hurry against Arkansas. In the Belk Bowl against Wake Forest, Durham capped off the season with two sacks and six tackles.

The Ted Hendricks Award is named in honor of college football’s first three-time first-team All-American. On-field performance, exceptional winning attitude, leadership abilities, contributions to school and community and academic preparedness are some of the criteria used to determine the award’s recipient each year.

Members of the national media, head coaches, professional scouts and former winners are included on the Award’s selection committee.

The winner of the Ted Hendricks Award will be announced December 12.
