COLLEGE STATION, Texas — An officer who responded to a College Station home for an animal welfare call ended up making a drug bust and arrest.

Everett Johnson, 20, of College Station, is charged with three counts of manual delivery of a controlled substance. Two of the counts are for controlled substances over 4 grams.

It happened Sunday on the 300 block of Southwest Pkwy. An officer had been called to the home after a report of someone hurting a dog. The officer said Johnson answered the door and allowed the officer inside the home to check on the dog in the backyard.

The officer reported they could smell fresh marijuana in the home. The officer said they saw a bag of marijuana on the coffee table in the living room, and, when led into the kitchen, saw what they believed to be THC wax on the counter.

The officer said Johnson and one of his roommates sat down in the living room and Johnson handed over a gun with an extended magazine hidden under the couch cushions. The officer questioned Johnson and his two roommates, and said all three of them were "forthcoming" about having narcotics in the home, but also allegedly admitted they didn't know all of what they had.

The officer said the three men allowed police to search the home. Police said they found over 131 grams of THC wax, 37 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 29 packaged units of LSD, marijuana, ecstasy pills, cocaine, THC concentrates and prescription drugs. Police said Johnson admitted the drugs were his and he sells them, according to court documents.

Johnson is currently in the Brazos County Jail on $115,000 bond.
