Blinn men's basketball comes up short against Bossier Parish

Bossier Parish Community College rallied in the second half to defeat the Blinn College men's basketball team, 71-65, on Saturday afternoon in the Kruse Center.

BRENHAM, Texas — Bossier Parish Community College rallied in the second half to defeat the Blinn College men’s basketball team, 71-65, on Saturday afternoon in the Kruse Center.

With the loss, Blinn’s overall record drops to 11-3 and conference record falls to 1-3.

“We played really well and when the Cavaliers took the lead in the second half we fought to get it back within striking distance,” said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. “We had opportunities and missed some key free throws down the stretch, but our guys played hard and competed.”

JaQuan Morris was the only Buccaneer to reach double digits on offense with 23 points.

Blinn opened the game strong against the Cavaliers to hold a 40-38 lead at the half. The Cavaliers came back in the second half to outscore Blinn 33-25 for the win.

Next, Blinn will head on the road for a conference matchup against Panola College on Monday, Jan. 7, at 7 p.m.
