The Bombers finished the homestand off strong, sweeping the Acadiana Cane Cutters with a 8-1 win tonight in front of a packed 90s Night crowd at Travis Field. The fans were then treated to a Fireworks Spectacular presented by GATX and post-game autographs by Bombers players.

The game started with the Bombers and Cane Cutters exchanging runs in the first, with Cam Blake scoring the game’s first run off a delayed double steal. The Bombers would then take the lead in the second inning after Nathan Pilutti scored on a balk from the Cane Cutters starting pitcher. For the Bombers, starting pitcher Chandler Jozwiak settled in nicely after giving up a first inning run, going 5 innings, allowing just the one run on 4 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts.

The Bombers again blew the game wide open with a big inning in the second half of the ballgame. This time the rally came in the 6th inning. Dylan Gardner drove in the first run of the inning, when he doubled in Nathan Pilutti, making the score 3-1. Cam Blake would follow that up with a RBI single to bring in Gardner. Ryan Newman would drive in the third run of the inning followed by Zach Iverson ripping a sacrifice fly to make the score 6-1 after six innings. The Bombers were not done scoring, as the team drove in two runs in the 8th inning, one on a Robin Adames Jr. single and the other coming on a Ryan Johnson sac fly.

The Bombers have a pair of off days before heading on a four day road trip to Texarkana and Victoria as they conclude the first half of TCL play. The club will return to Travis Field June 30, as the club hosts a patriotic celebration for Independence Day including a fireworks show.
