Brazos Valley Red Cross aiding in Florence relief efforts

Though rainfall has finally left the Carolinas, the storm is still bringing extremely dangerous flooding to the affected region.

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas - Hurricane Florence made landfall last week causing much destruction and devastation to the North Carolina Coast.

Though rainfall has finally left the Carolinas, the storm is still bringing extremely dangerous flooding to the affected region.

Many roads have been closed due to flooding, making it difficult to get help into some areas.

With so much devastation, support from across the nation is pouring into the Carolinas to aid in relief efforts-- including the Brazos Valley Red Cross who have already deployed several members and have plans to send more this week.

As of now the Red Cross has housed over 11,000 people in 114 shelters, and along with its partners such as Salvation Army and has provided more than 180,000 meals and snacks.
