COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The City of College Station voted on Thursday to pass the ordinance to regulate dockless bike share.

The ordinance states that programs must pick up and remove bikes in a reasonable time. The program has two hours to pick up or move the bikes during business hours. After normal business hours, the program has 12 hours to relocate the bike.

If a bike is not relocated in the appropriate time, the city will charge the company $125, which will be deducted from a $5,000 deposit by the bike program.

Also, the program will work with the city to establish the geo-fence, where bikes can and can't be.

Code enforcement officers will help enforce the bike ordinances. Community members will be able to notify the city of missed placed bikes by the app "See, Click, Fix" and through the ofobikes@tamu.edu email.
