One case of cyclospora in the Brazos Valley

BRYAN, Texas - There has been a single case of Cyclospora reported in the Brazos Valley.

The Brazos County Health Department said the individual who tested positive for the illness had recently traveled to the Fort Worth area. However, the said they are unsure where the illness was contracted.

Outbreaks have been reported across Texas, but the health department said it is still unknown the type of produce that is causing the outbreak.

The health department is encouraging the public to rinse and wash their produce before cooking or eating it. Adding it is also important to wash hands before and after meal prep.
