LePorte man in stable condition after shooting in Navasota Tuesday night

One man is in the hospital and another is in custody after a shooting in Navasota Tuesday night.

NAVASOTA, Texas — One man is in the hospital and another is in custody after a shooting in Navasota Tuesday night.

Raoul Enriquez, 46, of LaPorte, was shot in the chest after an argument with family members, Navasota police said.

Kevin Mock, 42, of Plantersville, is charged with aggravated assault in the shooting.

Navasota Police responded to the call for help on the 600 block of Wades Way Street just after 9 p.m.

Witnesses said another man, whom police identified as Mock, ran from the scene shortly after the shooting. He was later found about a block away in his vehicle. Police said Mock had a pistol.

Enriquez at last check is in stable condition at the hospital.

Mock at last check is in the Grimes County Jail.
