Mobile COVID-19 testing site announced in Brazos County

Testing will be free and is available by appointment only at the Brazos County Expo Center.

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — There will be a new COVID-19 testing site opening in Brazos County, but, at the moment, it will only be available for one day.

On Thursday, May 7, a mobile testing site will be available at the Brazos County Expo Center, located at 5827 Leonard Road. The testing will be from 8am to 5pm, but there are a few things you need to know before driving over to the site.

What you need to know now:

You must make an appointment in order to get tested. To make an appointment, go to txcovidtest.org, or you can call 512-883-2400. You will not be able to register for the testing site until 8am on Wednesday, May 6.

Priority will be given to the following groups:

  • People with coronavirus symptoms
  • Health care workers 
  • First responders
  • People over the age of 65
  • People who have had contact with a known positive COVID-19 case

There will only be enough kits for 120 people to be tested and the appointments will be given on a first come, first serve basis. You also do not need to be a Brazos County resident to get tested.

The testing is provided by the Texas Military Department, the Texas Division of Emergency Management, the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force and the Texas Department of State Health Services.
