New Bryan Fire Station celebrates grand opening Friday

The City of Bryan will celebrate the grand opening of Fire Station No. 2 on Friday.

The City of Bryan will celebrate the grand opening of Fire Station No. 2 with a ceremony led by Bryan Mayor Andrew Nelson and Bryan Fire Chief Randy McGregor. The opening celebration begins at 9 A.M. on Friday.

The newly opened facility is located approximately six blocks from the station’s original building at the corner of Cavitt and Dellwood. The original station was built over 50 years ago.

The city began building the new station in the Fall of 2016. Construction was completed months behind schedule due to factors like Hurricane Harvey.

The $6.3 million structure houses up to 15 firefighters and five fire trucks. At 28,000 square feet, the new station is significantly larger than its 51-year-old predecessor, which could only house two fire trucks and a handful of firefighters.

The new station is located at 414 Lawrence Street in Bryan, TX.
