RELLIS Academic Alliance Hires Associate Director

BRYAN, Texas — With the addition of an Associate Director, the RELLIS Academic Alliance team is expanding in preparation for the upcoming inaugural class at the newly established RELLIS Campus.

Isaiah Vance, the Director of Academic Advising and Retention at Texas A&M University-Central Texas, joined The Texas A&M University System as the Associate Director of the RELLIS Academic Alliance on July 6.

Vance will work with Jim Nelson, Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Special Academic Initiatives to oversee the coordination of programs and academic advising for the newly established RELLIS Academic Alliance.

“We are excited to have Isaiah join our team. He brings with him a wealth of experience that will help us on all of the operational aspects of kicking off the degree programs beginning this August,” said Nelson.

Vance comes with extensive experience in academic advising and retention. Prior to his six year tenure at A&M-Central Texas, he served as a faculty member and Religion Department Chair at Eastern New Mexico University.

"I am excited for the opportunity to help grow the RELLIS Academic Alliance. Working at RELLIS is both an honor and a challenge, and I look forward to being a part of this innovative campus,” said Vance.

Beginning fall 2018, degree programs will be offered at the RELLIS Campus by Blinn College and several Texas A&M System Universities. Each program at the RELLIS Academic Alliance creates a seamless pathway for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in a variety of related fields including criminal justice, business and health sciences.
