GRIMES COUNTY, Texas - Highway 30 into Huntsville has a major detour.
Gibbons Bridge along Highway 30 has been closed. TX Dot says the beams underneath the bridge are rotten.
TX Dot said contractors are bidding on the project next week and work should begin immediately after.
But, until the beams are fixed, driving over the bridge isn't safe.
TX Dot said that drivers have been moving the barricades to travel along the bridge -- another big problem. That is not only illegal, but is a safety concern.
