BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — A new business is promoting shopping locally through gift cards.
Nift, a Boston-based company, has been in the Brazos Valley for about six months and is rewarding customers who shop local.
When a customer shops at a local business that is partnered with Nift, the customer can receive a gift card. The gift card then is registered and the customer fills out a questionnaire over things they like, favorite shops and hobbies. The company will then match the customer to another local business where they can receive a full-priced gift.
The goal is to get foot traffic into stores and keep people coming back to local businesses.
"If you match with a business you like and the business gives you a good product and service, you are going to go back," said Elery Pfeffer, founder/CEO of Nift.
