UPDATE: 1/15/19: Bryan Police and DPS have arrested Jacinto Perez. 

Perez is charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and for an Accident Involving Damage to a Vehicle, according to jail records. 

Perez is being held in Brazos County Jail. 

BRYAN, Texas - A suspect who led law enforcement on a multi-agency chase has crashed in Bryan. 

According to DPS, the suspect fled from Bryan Police and DPS on Thursday afternoon before crashing near Carter Creek Parkway and Villa Maria. 

Police were in pursuit of the suspect after learning he was a suspect in a shoplifting case from a Walmart in Bryan, DPS said. 

He was driving a 2001 silver Ford pick-up. 

According to DPS, the suspect suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital. A spokesperson also stated that there was a female passenger in the truck. Her injuries did not appear to be major. 

DPS said the other motorists involved in the crash did not need to be transported to a hospital. As for the third vehicle in the crash, DPS said it had damage, but those inside appeared to have no injuries.
