"Lieutenant Governor Patrick,

As a physician and Senator, it has been a great honor being Chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. Per our discussions, I have asked not to serve in that capacity this session so that I can work and lead on other policy issues for my district as well as spend more time with my family. I look forward to a great session working for the citizens of Senate District 5.

Sincerely,

Charles Schwertner

State Senator"
