COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Senior Chandler Phillips was named to the PING All-America Second Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Thursday morning.

This is the third All-America honor of his career and the second time he has been named to the second team. Phillips was also honored by the GCAA following NCAA Championships as he was named to the PING All-Central Region Team, and has garnered All-SEC accolades in each of his four seasons at A&M after being named to the first team for the third straight season.

Phillips recently played in Palmer Cup after becoming the first American to be selected to participate three times. He holds the A&M program records for career tournament wins (7), lowest single round score (63) and lowest 54-hole score (-19). Phillips accumulated 16 top-5 and 27 top-10 tournament finishes in his career, while his 70.18 season stroke average in his final year dethroned the previous program best, which he set a season ago.

The Huntsville, Texas, native won the Arizona Intercollegiate, shooting a program best 19-under to start the spring season. He tied for sixth in stroke play at SEC Championships to help the Aggies tie for third, advancing to quarterfinal match play for the fourth straight season. Phillips tied for seventh at the NCAA Pullman Regional to help the Aggies win back-to-back Regionals for the first time in program history, shooting 9-under 200 (67-66-67). He led A&M through four rounds of stroke play at NCAA Championships, earning a 19th-place finish to help the Aggies advance to match play for the second straight season. As  junior, Phillips became just the fourth Aggie in program history to earn First Team All-America honors after a record-setting season.
