HOOVER, Alabama – Sophomore left-hander John Doxakis dominated, taking a no-hitter into the eighth, as the Texas A&M Aggies punched their ticket to the SEC Tournament semifinal round in a 4-2 win over the Auburn Tigers on Thursday night at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

Doxakis (7-5) faced two over the minimum through the first seven innings before Jay Estes, the first batter in the eighth, reached on an infield single. Doxakis finished the day with 7.1 innings of work, allowing one run on two hits and two hit batsmen while striking out 10.

Nolan Hoffman came on with a pair in scoring position and induced two quick groundouts to get out of the eighth. Hoffman tied Jason Jester (2013) for the A&M single-season saves record as he 14th of the season. The pairing of Hoffman and Doxakis fanned 12 and allowed just one non-infield hit to the Tiger offense.

Zach DeLoach led Texas A&M at the plate, going 3-for-3 with one sacrifice fly, one run and two RBI. George Janca was 2-for-3 with two runs. Braden Shewmake added a two-run double.
