Bombers Hold Off Pesky Twins

Unlike Thursday night, where the game was drama free, tonight's matchup kept the fans on the edge of their seats as the Bombers held off a comeback attempt by the Texarkana Twins to win 5-2.

Bryan/College Station – Unlike Thursday night, where the game was drama free, tonight’s matchup kept the fans on the edge of their seats as the Bombers held off a comeback attempt by the Texarkana Twins to win 5-2. Fans were treated to a post-game fireworks show thanks to Zwieacker and Associates and Star Wars Night thanks to Urban Optics.

The early innings were a pitchers’ duel as both starting pitchers were effective through three innings. In the fourth, the Bombers opened the scoring as Robin Adames hit his fourth home run of the season, to make the score 2-0 in favor of the home team. The Bombers would then score next in the 6th inning, with Robin Adames again coming up big with a RBI double to score Dylan Bonhert. Adames’ double was followed by a RBI single from DJ Petrinsky and a RBI double from Christian Sepulveda to put the Bombers ahead 5-0. The Twins would attempt a comeback late, scoring two runs in the 8th inning, and loading the bases in the 9th but came up short in the 5-2 matchup

Tomorrow, the Bombers begin two game home series against the Texas Marshals at 7:05, before heading on the road to Acadiana.
