Bombers snap two-game skid, take down the Cane Cutters

The Bombers were led by their pitching staff in tonight’s 4-1 win over the Acadiana Cane Cutters.

BRYAN, Texas —

The Bombers were led by their pitching staff in tonight’s 4-1 win over the Acadiana Cane Cutters. Logan Teske threw 6 scoreless innings on the night before giving way to Amado Almanzar, John Altman, and Cameron Wynn. 

The Bombers got on the board first scoring on a wild pitch as Bryant Shellenbarger reached on a single and later advanced to 3rd on a passed ball and a ground out. The Bombers would then take a commanding lead after a two run shot to right field by Chase Kemp. The Bombers and Cane Cutters would trade a run each to end the game. 

Kemp and Cole Coker each had multi hit performances as Coker went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a BB. Kemp went a perfect 3-3 with a run scored and 3 RBI’s Shellenbarger collected the other hit for the Bombers squad while also reaching on a walk and scoring once.

Teske got the win on the mound with 6 scoreless innings of work giving up 4 hits while striking out 4. The Bombers bullpen would each go one frame to close out the game. Amado Almanzar gave up Acadiana’s only run on the night walking one and giving up a hit. John Altman and Cameron Wynn would pitch two perfect frames with Altman getting one K, and Wynn getting two K’s. 

The Bombers will wrap up the series against the Cane Cutters with 1st pitch set at 7:05 before starting a 6 game road series facing off with the Generals, Rougarou, and the Cane Cutters.
