Brazos Valley Cavalry ties with Houston FC

Brazos Valley Cavalry FC drew against Houston FC by a score of 2-2 at Travis Field, in Bryan, Texas. The club led most of the match after two first half goals but gave up the lead in the 86th minute.

Bryan/College Station– Brazos Valley Cavalry FC drew against Houston FC by a score of 2-2 at Travis Field, in Bryan, Texas. The club led most of the match after two first half goals but gave up the lead in the 86th minute. The excitement went beyond the pitch as the atmosphere of the game was thrilling and almost included a fan leaving with a Ford truck.

Houston FC started the scoring early will a well-placed shot from Cyrus Harmon that went past Cavalry keeper Borja Barbero. Cavalry FC were quick to respond with a well-placed ball from Thomas Menke that set up a tap in from Brandon Guhl for the equalizer. The Cavalry kept up the pressure and were rewarded with a goal from Matt Dorsey, to take a 2-1 lead into the half.

The second half started off well from the Cavalry that cumulated with a penalty kick from Christian Duarte. The attempt was saved by the Houston FC keeper and proved to be a turning point for the match. In the 86th minute, Houston FC drew level after Tanner Hummel scored the final goal of the night.

The man of the match, Thomas Menke, was crucial on the first goal in setting up Brandon Guhl. The next match for Brazos Valley Cavalry FC will be on the road against FC Cleburne at The Depot at Cleburne Station. After tonight’s results, the Cavalry are 0-0-1 while FC Cleburne is 0-2-0.
