Apart Together: Staying connected while social distancing

From the get go, phones have been pretty magical… but now, ours keep us connected in more ways than one.

BRYAN, Texas — As we all know, social distancing is important right now, but to be honest, it’s kind of a bummer for us social butterflies out there.

But luckily, it’s 2020, and there are so many ways to stay connected.

Most of us know about FaceTime, it’s available for iPhone users to connect to whoever you want, up to 32 people.

If you don’t have an iPhone, there’s Google Duo for androids to connect to other Androids and Apple users too.

Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about Zoom being used by schools across the country.

You can send messages during a lesson if you’ve got questions and the moderator can screen share things they want everyone to see.

Google Hangouts is a lot like Zoom, you can talk and send chats to up to 25 people; But the cool thing is, Hangouts syncs with your Google accounts and contacts, making it easy to find all your buddies.

If you’re missing your Netflix and chill time, Netflix Party is here to help.

It synchronizes video playback with whoever you want to watch with and there’s a group chat to keep in contact while you’re binging your favorite show.

For our more traditional folks longing for their next game night… Playingcards.Io is your website.

You can create a chatroom and invite friends to play checkers, Go Fish, Crazy Eights and more.

To add more of a connection to your game, you can always set up a separate video chat with your buddies while playing.
